Fresh sweet cherries are a delicate fruit that must be handled with care. At STAS BELGIUM we are specialized in offering best solutions for packing and grading cherries carefully and quick without brushes caused for friction of by drops.

Infeed is the first stage of our turnkey solutions. STAS BELGIUM designs state of the art tipping and dumping solutions to gently tipping crates into water tank. Since cherries are very delicate it must be carried out in an extremely delicate way. Thereof water temperature should be controlled by means of hydrocooling systems that STAS BELGIUM also has designed.

The roller elevator washes apples with fresh water and also sprays apple. Afterwards apples will be dried. In the horizontal roller integrated in the roller elevator apples can be sorted manually.

Our vision system detects: size, colour and shape, weight and external defects.Our cherry sorting graders are equipped with a software m which is fast and accurate and enables you to sort at a speed of 36 cherries per second per lane. While yielding high productivity and accuracy, it will allow you to open new markets and get premium prices for your product. Our technology is designed to reduce packing costs and making your packhouse more efficient.

Flexible Solutions Our vision system is designed to operate on almost any manufacturer’s sorting equipment. This enables you to select the appropriate grading machine or to retrofit your existing sizer.

External quality

When it comes to defect sorting, STAS BELGIUM leads the industry with its ability to identify all forms of defects including decay, blemishes, spurs, doubles, cracks and softness. Using high resolution cameras (3.2 Megapixel) different measurements are taken with different wavelengths of light. Our STAS BELGIUM MSI5 cameras permit us to have a pixel perfect alignment of the high-quality images.

Colour separation

Ultrafine colour separations are obtained through TrueSort™ intuitive software that enables operators to quickly create or modify colour profiles. Clear red, dark red and black cherries can effortlessly be graded in multiple colour classes. Subclasses herein are available through the use of measurements such as the percentage of blush.

Size separation

Accurate sizing of the cherry is more reliable when the product is viewed from various angles. To achieve this, the cherry is rotated under the camera and 10 images are taken of each product. This is done at a speed of 36 cups per second. This permits you to calculate the diameter and surface area. Through size measurements, defects such as misshape, pairs and spurs are identified.

Equipped with an optional automatic cleaning program

Our cherry sorting machine is designed to automatically clean itself, so that your product retains its high quality and high value to meet strict hygiene and sanitation standards. The Cherry Class is equipped with an automatic roller cleaning system and static brushes. These brushes are set in contact with the driving chain during the cleaning process and can be run while the cherry sorting machine is in production. At the end of every shift, an automatic deep cleaning program can be run by using dry steam to remove dirt from the rollers and an air blowing system for drying the rollers.

Manual or SEMI AUTOMATIC WEIGHING AND PACKING SYSTEM

For small cherry production, packing of the selected product is performed manually by filling automatically boxes placed into our banks

For larger production our semi-automatic weighing system is formed by a Scala or load cell that enables semi-automatic bulk bin filling, using a crate finishing system to guarantee maximum precision in reaching the desired weight. Our weighers are equipped with a touch screen from where it is possible to manage all the parameters of the packages to be filled

High productivity

We can ensure you our cherry sorting machine is the fastest in the market. The Cherry Class can process 36 cherries in each lane per second, allowing high capacity while maintaining excellent accuracy.
